Taking aim at e-books with a brand-new series
Diversifying its electronic publishing business from just Apple iOS apps, Collca has just launched its first e-book series called In the Footsteps of…. with three initial titles. This series of bitesize e-books covers favourite authors and people from history or fiction. The titles include biographical information about the people and, where appropriate, the books they’ve written or appear in; places associated with them; how they’ve been covered in films, television, art and plays; plus locations used for major films and television series. The first three titles are:
- In the Footsteps of Robin Hood
- In the Footsteps of the Brontë Sisters
- In the Footsteps of Sherlock Holmes.
Collca has many more e-books planned and in preparation to be published in November, December and the first half of 2012. These include further titles for the In the Footsteps of…. series as well as e-books in a number of new series.
All Collca’s e-books will be available in the industry-standard ePub format as well as for the Amazon Kindle which uses a proprietary format. They will be readable on all major dedicated e-book readers, tablets and smartphones. Using appropriate e-reading software, they will also be readable on laptops, notebooks and desktop computers running Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
The titles will all be on sale in around 80 online e-book retailers all around the world including Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Waterstones and WH Smith.
